Beatdown in Berea: Pirates get lanced by Knights

Over the years, Rocky River and Toledo St. Francis de Sales have engaged in some epic battles on the lacrosse field. With all the one-goal and overtime games the two teams have played, a rivalry has been built between two of Ohio\'s top Division 2 programs. On a cool, breezy Thursday night in Berea, the Pirates and Knights added another chapter to that rivalry. Just not in a way most folks at George Finnie Stadium expected. The Knights broke open the game in the first half with an 8-0 run within the span of 11 minutes. When it was all said and done, St. Francis, led by a 6-goal performance by junior Noah Best, headed back to Toledo after winning...    (3537 reads)

A new head coach. Some new players. Even so, the winning continues for the Rocky River boys lacrosse team. New head coach Ted Dimond and his band of Pirates have made it four wins in their first five outings. Tuesday night, they scored four goals in the first quarter and never looked back in a 14-0 win over Brecksville at Rocky River Stadium. \"Our focus has been to build up both the top and bottom of our offense,\" Dimond said. \"We want to feel like at any point of the year, we can feel comfortable with different guys in different spots from attack and midfield. \"You saw that tonight as we were able...    (6549 reads)
