You see them every Friday night at your local high school football game. They are always there supporting their team, win or lose.
Last week at North Ridgeville High School, they took center stage.
'They' would be the cheerleading squads from the member schools of the West Shore Conference. On this night, they would take the floor, perform their routines and compete for their own league championship.
The Elyria Catholic squad won the team championship. with Avon taking runner-up honors. Host North Ridgeville came in third, followed by Rocky River, Midview, Lakewood, Bay and Vermilion.
