Kuzdale homer gives Crushers doubleheader splitThe Lake Erie Crushers split a double-header with the Florence Freedom Monday night at All Pro Freight Stadium in front of a crowd of 1,871.

Lake Erie won the first game by a score of 8-6, while losing the second game, 9-2. Both games went seven innings. Florence improved to 16-13 on the season.

Paul Fagan started game one for the Crushers, and went 5.0 innings with two strikeouts while being tagged with four earned runs. Fagan was given a no-decision in the win.

Travis Risser earned the victory for Lake Erie by going 1.0 inning in scoreless relief. Risser’s record now stands at 1-1.

The Crushers, now 12-17, banged out eight hits throughout the first game. Robby Kuzdale hit his first homer of the season and also scored two runs.

J.C. Figueroa and Wally Correa each collected two base hits and scored a run for the Crushers. This was Figueroa’s first game as a Crusher this season after being signed last week.

Game two of the double-header was started by Trevor Longfellow, who was also handed the loss. His record now stands at 2-1 after going 3.1 innings pitched with three strikeouts and five earned runs allowed.

Rogelio Noris collected his second homerun of the season, and finished with two base hits. Adrian Ortiz and Russell Moldenhauer each had two base hits. Moldenhauer also recorded a run scored during the second game.
